Pallet Rack Hanger for the Shop

In order to maximize the vertical space in my shop and garage, I installed pallet racks. The faces of the racks are decorated with a variety of magnetic hooks for hanging various light weight items, including my apron, welding jacket, and so on. The hooks tend to slide down or off completely so I designed a 3D printed hanger that plugs into the pallet rack holes.

Design

I used SolveSpace for MCAD design.
The design is intended to only hold 10 lbs or so. The hook opening is set to appx 5/8″, which would accommodate a range of expected items, including my backpacks.
I went with 2 mount points to improve support.

The STL file can be found at Printables.com.

3D Printing

This design is printed on it’s side, so enable supports when slicing.

Finished Item

The mount when slid down, fits snugly in the rack. This way removing an item from the hanger won’t pop the mount loose.

I may make some other variants for heavy duty and different hanger styles.
